Countdown starts for Windows XP because the twelve and half year old operating system has limited life of few hours, as Microsoft will ends support and services to the operating system on Tuesday April 8, 2014.

Windows XP

From Tuesday, Windows XP users will not get new security updates, free or paid assisted option and any technical support updates. Windows XP is the most popular operating system until, which was launched in October 2001, standalone in the market for twelve and half year. Estimate suggests that 1 in 5 personal computer still runs XP.

Microsoft corp. forcing XP owners to upgrade to a newer operating system like Windows 7 or 8, although people can use Windows XP after Microsoft ends support but that might be risky. So Windows 7 or 8 would be good option for XP owners, and other options are Apple's OS X Mavericks(runs on only Apple PCs) or Linux flavours like Ubuntu, LXLE or Zorin

RIP Windows XP

Upgrade to another operating system depends on people's choice which OS they prefer. Microsoft has provided a number of resources to help people get started with new OS. You can follow this link to upgrade Windows XP to its latest operating system.
